
GUWAHATI: Cotton University has commenced its undergraduate (UG) admission process officially for the year 2025. According to a notification published by the university, admissions will be decided on the basis of the marks secured at the Higher Secondary (10+2) exams. The decision was taken at the 12th meeting of the Academic Council, which was convened on January 25, 2025.
The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Cotton University sanctioned the notification and brought it to public notice on 12th March 2025. The university has asked potential students to visit its official website from time to time for details and step-by-step instructions regarding the admission process.
Though the notice gives an outline of the admissions, additional details regarding the application process, merits, and deadlines are likely to be announced in the near future. The university is keen to have a transparent and streamlined admission process for all the applicants.
Recently, the third convocation of Cotton University was held at the Srimanta Sankardeva International Auditorium, Guwahati, where 3,001 students received their degrees, including 86 PhD and 128 gold medal winners. Journalist Kanaksen Deka was conferred an honorary D.Litt. degree.
Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya appealed to graduates to put in their best efforts during the transforming Amrit Kaal and underscored the role of the university in nation-building.
Professor Apoorva Palkar encouraged students to have big dreams, while Cotton University Vice Chancellor Professor Ramesh Chandra Deka showcased recent successes, such as a four-year undergraduate program and increased industry partnership.
