AIUDF candidate Dr Hafiz Rafiqul Islam wins in Jania LAC

BARPETA: In Jania LAC, AIUDF candidate Dr Hafiz Rafiqul Islam won by a margin of 35,130 votes, defeating his nearest rival Congress candidate Samsul Hoque. Dr Hafiz Rafiqul Islam got 81,764 votes. On the other hand, Samsul Hoque got 46,634 votes and BJP candidate Toufique Rahman got 15,348 votes. There were 648 NOTA votes. There were total nine candidates in fray in the 44 Jania LAC. The seat felt vacant after the Lok Sabha election as Congress candidate Abdul Khaleque was elected as the MP of Jania.
