AIUDF candidate representative refutes Aminul's allegations

SILCHAR: The representative of AIUDF candidate, Karim Uddin Barbhuiya, Altaf Hussain Laskar refutes the allegations of sitting MLA and Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque Laskar as 'tissue of lies, distortion of facts and fictitious.' Just after Aminul Haque addressed a press meet at his residence to brief media to clarify his stand about the controversy surrounding his visit to Dhonehari LP School polling booth of Sonai constituency on the day of polling, Altaf Hussain Laskar too called journalists at his Dhonehari residence. He said following the brawl, scuffle and firing outside the booth, it was necessary to remove misgivings from public mind about the incident. Karim Uddin Barbhuiya is on campaign trail with Badruddin Ajmal in Brahmaputra Valley.

AIUDF representative pointed out it was totally wrong to put the blame on others and malign them. He said 3 FIRs have been filed against Aminul Haque Laskar, BJP candidate, holding him responsible for the incident. Besides the sitting MLA, 7 others have been named in the FIR filed at Sonai police station. According to him, while voting has been going on at Dhonehari LP School, suddenly around 5.20 PM, Aminul Haque appeared at the polling station and started threatening the voters in queue. Altaf Hussain alleged Aminul Haque brought out his revolver and started firing, injuring six, three critically, necessitating their hospitalisation.

Altaf Hussain himself was standing in the queue to vote and requested Aminul Haque not to disturb the voters. In the brawl and scuffle, MLA's revolver was lost which was later on recovered by the crowd and handed over to police. His voter ID card that went missing was also recovered and handed over to police. The O/C of Sonai ploice station is looking into the case. Locals are in fear and panic as they apprehend action against them.
