AK-47 rifle, magazines and ammunition recovered by Kokrajhar Police

KOKRAJHAR: An AK-47 rifle, magazines and ammunition were recovered in forest areas of Tipkai under Porbhotjhora subdivision of Dhubri district on Friday night.

Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Rakesh Roushan said that on the night of Friday, a search operation for recovery of illegal arms and ammunitions was conducted in the forest areas under Tipkai Outpost of Bagribari PS by a team of Kokrajhar Police led by BedantaBarkakoti, Additional SP (B) and OC, Bagribari PS. He said that arms and ammunitions were recovered from beneath a bamboo groove in Duligaon area, which included one AK series rifle, two AK series magazines, one polythene sheet used for wrapping and covering the rifle and magazine to which lubricant was applied and 30 AK series ammunition in a plastic container half filled with rice husk.

The SP said the recovered arms and ammunitions were seized in presence of independent witnesses.
