DEMOW: Under the patronage of All Adivasi Students Association of Assam (AASAA), Rajmai Primary Unit Committee, a two-hour demonstration was staged in Rajmai Tea Estate near Demow on Tuesday.

Later, the activists submitted a memorandum to the manager of Rajmai Tea Estate on Tuesday. In the memorandum, the AASAA Rajmai Primary Unit Committee demanded that the daily wage of tea labourers should be increased to Rs.350, 20 per cent bonus should be provided to labourers and NOC should not be given to illegal land encroachers in Rajmai Tea Estate. AASAA Rajmai Primary Unit Committee has demanded the authority of the tea estate to fulfill their demands at the earliest. In the programme Swaraj Tanti, president, Sunil Turi, secretary of AASAA, Rajmai Primary Unit Committee, and other leaders were present.
