All Assam Students' Union (AASU) stages road blockade in Namti

Joysagar: The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) Namti regional unit of Sivasagar district staged a two-hour road blockade on Monday in the busy Namti-Sivasagar-Amguri PWD road. Hundreds of AASU members and local villagers came out and staged the road blockade to demand construction of the historic Namti Deogharia Duwara Ali under Nazira subdivisional PWD of Sivasagar Rural Road Division.

The Namti Deogharia PWD rural road is in a dilapidated condition and as a result local people have to face a lot of inconvenience. The AASU has fixed January 25 as the deadline for the construction of the road, failing which the student body will stage another agitation.
