All Assam Students Union resumes anti-CAA protest at Sasoni

NAHARKATIA: Under the aegis of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Sasoni regional unit and locals of Sasoni, a human chain was formed in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA) at Halua Tiniali Sasoni.

AASU Sasoni regional unit secretary Santu Gogoi said, "We the people of Sasoni cannot accept this contentious Act. Our demand is to scrap the Act." More than hundreds of activists took part in the protest by shouting slogans against the CAA and the government. Gogoi added, "To save the indigenous people of Assam, the people of Sasoni gave paddy to raise funds for the anti-CAA movement. We will continue our agitation till the contentious Act is scrapped."
