LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of All Assam Unemployed Association (AAUA) on Wednesday burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to demand the release of the anti-CAA agitators who are in imprisonment.

While staging the programme, Lakhimpur unit AAUA president Binod Das and secretary Khirod Chetiya alleged that they were imprisoned to silence the anti-CAA agitation. They demanded the government to make public the measures that had been taken to treat the anti-CAA agitators who had detected positive for COVID-19 during their imprisonment.
