All Assam Unemployed Association submits memorandum to DC Dr. Jeevan B

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district unit of All Assam Unemployed Association (AAUA) expressed strong reaction against the alleged move on the part of North Lakhimpur Municipal Board initiated with regard to allotting the commercial rooms of the North Lakhimpur daily market to businessmen without publishing any advertisement.

Regarding the issue, a delegation of the organization, led by Lakhimpur unit president Binod Das, submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur district, Dr. Jeevan B on Thursday. Through the memorandum, the organization demanded the DC to take steps to invite applications from businessmen by publishing due advertisements in the newspapers or other media in order to allot the commercial rooms of the daily market and to allot the same to them by holding lottery in their presence.

Notably, an enquiry was launched under the initiative of the Lakhimpur DC against the allotment of the same commercial rooms of the daily market done during the Municipal Board led by former chairperson Jiten Gogoi. By submitting the memorandum, the organization further demanded the DC to make the enquiry report public.
