BAKSA: All BTC Minority students' Union (ABMSU) demanded justice for their slain president Lafiqul Islam Ahmed.

Till this date not a single person involved in the brutal murder of Lafiqul Islam Ahmed has been arrested even after three years of the incident, said Taison Hussain, General Secretary of ABMSU, Assam while participating in a protest programme at Dwarkuchi under Tamulpur Subdivision in the district of Baksa.

Taison Hussain slammed State government for not initiating any steps to identify the culprits involved in Lafiqul Islam Ahmed murder case and demanded immediate publishing of the CBI report publicly.

Dwarkuchi Anchalik Commitee of ABMSU on Saturday, staged a demonstration led by Hussain, seeking identification and punishment to the culprits associated with the murder case. ABMSU workers raised slogans showing play cards at Dwarkuchi on Rangia-Tamulpur-Bhutan Road and demanded justice for Lafikul family.

It is worth mentioning that Lafiqul was shot dead by armed miscreants at Kokrajhar on August 1, 2017. The State government had handed over the investigation to CBI just after a few days of the incident.

The ABMSU activists showed resentment and expressed unhappiness over the delaying process of publishing the investigation reports of CBI. They demanded identification of the involved culprits.

Hussain alleged that although three years have passed, neither of the culprits were booked nor the CBI reports were released in public.

The leader strongly criticized the BJP led State government for not fulfilling the promises that were kept before the students' union after the murder case. Hussain alleged that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has failed to accord investigation report properly as he kept promises to take actions against the incident.

The ABMSU has warned to stage strong protests throughout the State to seek justice into the murder case in the forthcoming days.
