New Delhi: Regional aviation service provider Alliance Air will soon start flight services connecting Assam's Dibrugarh district to five cities in Arunachal Pradesh.

The flights will connect Dibrugarh in Assam with Pasighat, Tezu, Ziro, Mechuka, and Tuting in Arunachal Pradesh.

Alliance Air's Dibrugarh station manager Narsing Rao Meesala said that in the first phase, flight services will start between Dibrugarh-Pasighat, Dibrugarh-Tezu, and Dibrugarh-Ziro.

''Depending on the availability of aircraft, flight services between Dibrugarh-Tuting and Dibrugarh-Mechuka will also be started in the next phase,'' he was quoted as saying by media.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) had entered into an agreement with Alliance Air for leasing two 17 seater Dornier Do-228 aircraft under the Union Government's regional connectivity scheme 'UDAN'.

As per Meesala, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu are likely to inaugurate the first flight on April 12.

This flight will be between Dibrugarh-Lilabari-Pasighat-Guwahati.
