Alumni meet of Lakhimpur Commerce College held in North Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: An alumni meet of Lakhimpur Commerce College was held at the college in North Lakhimpur on Monday. Organized by the Alumni Association of the college, the meeting was inaugurated by Dr. Gunindra Nath Sarma, Principal of Nowboicha College and an alumni of Lakhimpur Commerce College. The ceremonial lamp of the meet was lighted by Utpal Dutta, ex-MLA and minister of Assam and an alumni of the college.

An open meeting was held on that occasion which was chaired by Raj Kumar Saraf, president of the Alumni Association of Lakhimpur Commerce College. The welcome address was delivered by Munin Saikia, secretary of the alumni association. Dr Lohit Hazariuka, principal of the college thanked everyone for organizing the alumni meet of the college on the golden jubilee year of the college.

Dr. Jiten Hazarika, Vice Chancellor of Dibrugarh University attended the function as the chief guest. Dr. Hazarika also inaugurated the research journal of the college on that occasion. Dr. Anil Saikia, retired Principal of Moran College and member of Sangeet Natak Akademi attended the meeting as an invited guest. Eminent academician Dr. Mukunda Rajbangshi, President of the Governing Body of the college Dr. Muhidhar Pujari and founder Principal of Lakhimpur Commerce College Dr Hemanta Kumar Baruwa also attended the alumni meet as guests of honour.
