Aman Pradhan of Darrang bags 462 rank in NEET

MANGALDAI: Though the COVID-19 has marred the festivity of Durga Puja, yet the achievement of a poor rural talent of a remote village of Darrang district has added new colour to the festivity. Aman Pradhan of village Suktaguri No. 1 in Kuruwa area of Sipajhar LAC in the south-westernmost corner of Darrang district, with his hard work, dedication and commitment, has been able to secure 462 rank in the recently declared National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET).

Aman Pradhan, son of Jagat Pradhan, an office staff of a private academic institution in Guwahati, without any private tuition or coaching secured 85.5 per cent marks in the HSSLC examination from a private academic institution in Baihata Chariali in Kamrup (rural) district. Unfortunately, in 2018 Aman's mother left for heavenly abode following an 18-year long ailment. Despite the loss of his mother, Aman continued his education and to prepare for NEET.

Hearing about Aman's achievement, Darrang Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah on Thursday invited Aman Pradhan and his father Jagat Pradhan to his office chamber and offered him a hearty felicitation with a phulam Bihuwan and also extended some financial assistance. In a separate function, Superintendent of Police Amrit Bhuyan too accorded Aman Pradhan a warm hospitality in his official bungalow and greeted him with a phulam Bihuwan. Media person Bhargab Kumar Das and Hemanta Kumar Baruah were present in both the functions.

Both Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah and Superintendent of Police Amrit Bhuyan interacted with Aman Pradhan and congratulated him for his achievement. They also assured him to extend all possible help and support in pursuing his medical education.
