BONGAIGAON: A massive scam has taken place in the distribution of student scholarships for minority students, alleged Rezaul Karim Sarkar, president of All Minorities Students' Union (AMSU) on Tuesday during a press meet held in Greater Bongaigaon Press Club.

Sarkar said that from the year 2014 to 2020, a massive scam took place with regard to scholarship to minority students. "This is a scam to the tune of crores of rupees. Many high profile political figures, high-level officers, officers of the Minority Board and bank managers are involved to this scam. We demand for a CBI enquiry in this regard. We have sent a memorandum to the Union Home Minister and Union Minister for Minority Affairs in this regard. If the government does not take any active step in this regard, we will go to court for justice," he said.
