GUWAHATI: In Assam's Guwahati railway station, members of the transgender community have opened the country's first tea shop.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Indian Railways Minister, tweeted the information. He tweeted, "India's first Trans Tea Stall at a railway platform." He also included images of the tea shop with that.

The post attracted thousands of views after being posted by Ashwini Vaishnaw, including Anand Mahindra's.

The businessman commended the idea and said, "This one small initiative is, in my view, as significant & transformational as your many other progressive projects. Indian Railways carries over 8 billion people. And most important excludes no one. Bravo @AshwiniVaishnaw."

It has received more than 10,000 likes since it was posted. A lot of people have commented on the share. Several people's opinions on the post were expressed.

Other individuals stated that,  was a wonderful idea and that many of these admirable initiatives and accomplishments have come from North East India in recent years. The growing contributions from there are particularly pleasing to observe.

Another individual said, "God Bless them. Government should fund their ventures." "Definitely an eye-opener. Kudos to the team which made it possible," wrote a third.

Some have stated that the gender was unnecessary to specify. One person wrote, "I don't think we have to make them feel different from the rest of the group. That ought to be just a tea shop. The third gender has nothing to do with it.”

Another user said, "Even those who are embarrassed to deliberately consume tea or snacks from a third gender won't try it with this strategy."

"Since you have the chance to communicate with and have an impact on everyone involved in this project, Sirji, why not delete the term "trans" from the name and, consequently, the hoarding? The real gauge of societal acceptance and development would be that! Regards”,  a person mentioned.
