Annual prize distribution ceremony of Dakhin Nagsankar High School held

JAMUGURIHAT: The annual prize distribution ceremony of Dakhin Nagsankar High School was held on Friday with Bhabani Sarma in the chair.

The programme began with a song by Jeena Devi followed by a chorus. Lila Kanta Sarma, the headmaster of the school, briefed the objectives of the meeting while Chandra Kanta Sarma, the founder retired headmaster of the educational institution, graced the occasion as an appointed speaker. Hitesh Barua, the ZPC member of Nagsankar who attended the function as chief guest, also addressed the students. Anurag Kafle read out the report of the general secretary. A special felicitation programme was held to felicitate Anjan Baskota, the assistant teacher of the school who was recently awarded with the Kabi Bhakta Rai Smriti Sahitya Puraskar by a Siliguri-based literary society recently. Retired teachers of the school, Biren Kumar Nath, Geetanjali Mahanta and Punya Nirola, addressed the gathering while Ballav Chapagain, the assistant headmaster of the school, carried out the proceedings of the meeting.
