Anomalies detected in implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: The All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union, Golaghat District Committee alleged that huge anomalies had taken place in implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission under Golaghat Municipality Board.

In a press statement, president Mintu Bora said that Golaghat Municipality was involved in corruption in implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Further, he said that on August 28, 2019 they had submitted application to seek information under the RTI Act, 2005 over fund received and use of fund for implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission. But the Golaghat Municipality Board authority allegedly did not provide the required information.

He also said that the authority of Golaghat Municipality Board had used poor standard dustbins in the name of Swachh Bharat Mission. Besides, the latrines constructed under the Golaghat Municipality Board area were also of poor standard. He further alleged that the authority of Golaghat Municipality Board was involved in huge corruption in implementation of the Swachh Bharat Mission in Golaghat urban area. The Golaghat AKRASU demanded a proper inquiry into the matter.
