ANSS demands Nepali language centre at proposed Barama Central University

UDALGURI: A delegation of Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha met the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) Principal Secretary Dr. Siddharth Singh on Monday and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India demanding a Nepali Language and Cultural Study centre at the proposed Upendranath Central University. The delegation comprised of president Gayatri Bhattarai, advisor Baidyanath Upadhyaya, Literary Secretary of Udalguri district committee Sahadev Gautam, president and secretary of Kokrajhar district committee Krishna Bahadur Thapa and Chidananda Upadhyaya, president and secretary of Chirang district committee of Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha Mohan Acharya and Binod Nepal. The Principal Secretary has assured the delegation that he will forward the memorandum to the PM. The Nepali literary organization has mentioned that the BTC area has a sizeable portion of Nepali speaking people.
