AOC-in-Chief RD Mathur Visits Strategic Mohanbari  Airbase in Dibrugarh

Tezpur: AOC-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal RD Mathur visited Air Force Station Mohanbari, Dibrugarh on July 4 and July 5. Air Marshal was accompanied by wife Shipra Mathur, president of AFWWA (Regional) Head Quarter Eastern Air Command, Indian Air Force.

The Air Marshal was received by Group Captain V Ahluwalia Vayusena Medal, Station Commander, Air Force Station Mohanbari and Wing Commander Lavanya Bharadwaj, president of AFWWA (Local), 42 Wing, Air Force. On arrival, he was presented with a Guard of Honour. The Air Marshal was briefed on various important issues pertaining to the Station. He interacted with all the officers and airmen of the Station and emphasized the strategic nature of the base operate. In his address, he brought out the key role likely to be played by this base in the years to come and emphasized the need to be focused and vigilant. He also touched upon various initiatives being under taken by the IAF in terms of human resource management. He exhorted air warriors of the station to remain operationally focused, physically fit, mentally agile and live up to the motto and highest traditions of the IAF. Subsequently, he also invited various key locations of the Station.

This being the maiden visit as AOC-in-C to this station, the Air Marshal expressed his contentment over the functioning, commitment and operational orientation of the personnel.

Shipra Mathur, president of AFWWA (Regional) Eastern Air Command, IAF visited the AFWWA ventures and interacted with the Sanginis (Wives of Air Warriors) to gain first-hand knowledge of their issues. She expressed satisfaction at the efforts and ventures started by the Station and lauded the Sanginis on their contribution towards the positive attitude and environment in the Station. She also visited the schools and appreciated the initiatives towards overall development and education of children.
