KOKRAJHAR: Assam MP and newly-elected President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Gaurav Gogoi while visiting BTC headquarter town Kokrajhar on Sunday called upon the Congress workers of different cells to be hard working, devoted, and to work together to fight the BTC elections to be held in September. Gogoi expressed confidence that the Congress party is ready to contest the upcoming BTR elections.

Speaking to the mediapersons in Kokrajhar, Gogoi said that the party had identified candidates for all the 40 constituencies in BTR and was gearing up for a tough fight. He emphasized that land will be a major issue in the BTR elections, citing the struggles of ordinary people to access land while industrialists and politicians seem to have no such problems. He stated that the Congress party would prioritize the land issue and work to address the concerns of the people.

The Congress leader also criticized the BJP government, accusing them of prioritizing the interests of industrialists and politicians over those of ordinary people. He claimed that the BJP government had been using government schemes to benefit their own party leaders and their families, rather than the people they were meant to help. He also expressed confidence that the people would reject the BJP government in the upcoming elections and vote for the Congress party instead. He called upon party workers to work hard to strengthen the party and ensure a good showing in the elections.

The APCC President described the BTR elections as a battle and urged party workers to see themselves as soldiers fighting for a just cause. He emphasized the importance of working together to achieve victory and ensure a bright future for the people of BTR.
