Apply Newton's Formula At Border Areas Too: APCC President

Guwahati: In an apparent reference to Niraj Das death -- the prime accused in Jorhat Lynching case -- a tweet from Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam, GP Singh didn't go well with the Congress here.

The Assam DGP on December 1 had tweeted, ''For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction - Newton's Third Law.'' after the main accused Neeraj Das aka 'Kola lora' (black boy) died on Wednesday while attempting to flee from police custody.

However, reacting on the same, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Bora took a jibe at the Assam DGP for his tweet and asked to apply the same formula at the border areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland.

He also asked Central government to use the formula at Pakistan and China borders as well.

He was speaking at felicitation program here in Guwahati, where he mentioned that the punishment for the guilty should have been processed legally, however, it didn't.

He further alleged that often police failed to produce criminals before the court as they escape from their custody, adding, 'this is the failure of the state police department.''
