Armed Miscreants Creating Terror in Golaghat Town

GOLAGHAT: Amidst police security and patrolling round-the-clock in Golaghat town, the incident of firing and recovery of the pistol in Golaghat town on Tuesday has created terror among the people of Golaghat town.

As per the report, a minor boy recovered a .22 pistol with a black cartridge on the roadside in Tapan Nagar of Golaghat town. Later, it was deposited at the Golaghat police station. Since October 27, some miscreants have been creating fear in the minds of the people of Golaghat town.

On October 27, a girl residing in Arengapara sustained bullet injuries while she was sleeping in her room. The miscreant targeted the girl through the window of her house. She was immediately referred to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.

Another incident took place at Joonaki Nagar under the Golaghat police station in which fired bullets were recovered from the house of Cheniram Gogoi. Family members said that they had heard the sound of firing but they thought it to be the sound of firecrackers. In the morning they astonished to see a fired bullet lying on the floor of a room. In this context, the Golaghat Police have not given any statement and are allegedly avoiding talking to the media.
