DHUBRI (Panbari): In a colourful ceremony, Red Horns Division, under the aegis of Gajraj Corps, flagged off an educational tour of girl students hailing from remote parts of Dhubri and Kokrajhar districts in Guwahati on Sunday while it will be flagged in at Dhubri on September 20. The tour was flagged off by Amanpreet Kaur Sangha, wife of Lt Gen GS Sangha, SM, VSM, General Officer-Commanding, Gajraj Corps. The tour, scheduled from September 2 to September 20, will include visits to Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore during the course of the next two weeks.

20 girl students and two female teachers, belonging to the entire spectrum of ethnicity in Assam, are participating in the tour. The tour has been planned with multifaceted aims, including providing encouragement to girl students, introducing them to the heritage of the country, increasing awareness about educational, professional avenues and building bridges between communities, an army officer informed.

He further informed that the integration tour was broadly planned to visit important places of historic, military, academic, professional recreational interests, including Gateway of India, Wankhede Stadium, Infosys, National Defence Academy (NDA), AFMC, Naval Dockyard, Fergusson College, Pune, and HAL Heritage Centre and Museum. The participants will also get an opportunity to interact with distinguished personalities, including the Governor of Karnataka, he added.
