Around 500 members join Congress under the leadership of APCC president Ripun Bora

TEZPUR: Under the leadership of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora, as many as 500 members from various political parties joined the Congress in presence of MLA of Rupahi and Sonitpur district in-charge, Nurul Huda, former minister Rakibul Hussain and other leaders at a mass joining ceremony held at the District Library auditorium on Monday.

The joining ceremony was organized by Tezpur and Gabharu Block Congress. Attending the ceremony, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora said that if his party was voted to power in the State in 2021, it would put pressure on the Centre not to implement the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in the State and give settlement to those who would get Indian citizenship under the Act elsewhere in the country. He also said that the farmers' loans for the year 2020 and micro finance loans for women would be withdrawn immediately if the Congress came to power.
