Asom Natya Sanmilan's 58th Annual Session kick starts at Nalbari

Nalbari: The 58th annual session of the Asom Natya Sanmilan has kicked off on Thursday evening at Nalbari. Inaugurating the session Kuladhar Saikia, president of the Asom Sahitya Sabha, said that currently, the trend of playwriting in Assam has changed.

He insisted that a playwright should give primary importance on connecting masses through the performing art. Nowadays lots of new experiments have been done in writing plays or enacting dramas, he said. On the other hand, local MLA Ashok Sharma gave the welcome address. Bharat Bhushan Devchoudhury, DC, Nalbari and Kamrup SP Partha Sarathi Mahanta took part in the meet, which was presided over by Asom Natya Sanmilan's president Dulal Roy, as special guests.

Earlier on today, the session started with flag-hoisting by 58 prominent persons. Friday's programme will start at 8-30 am, informed organizing committee.
