LAKHIMPUR: Asomiya Yuva Mancha (AYM) has strongly opposed the killing of Assam forest guard Bidyasing Lekhte and assaulting people of Assam in Meghalaya.

In this connection, the activists of the organization, led by central committee chief secretary Anupam Saikia, burnt the effigy of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma demanding security to the people of Assam in the neighbouring State concerned. During the demonstration, the protesters shouted slogans against the Meghalaya Chief Minister and demanded capital punishment to the miscreants who killed the Assam forest guard. AYM central committee organizing secretary Mantu Das, Lakhimpur district committee president Chiranjit Bordoloi, secretary Bikash Bhumiz and other office bearers, members took part in the programme.
