Assam: 10 students hospitalized for suspected food poisoning in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT:  10 students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Chokihola, near the Golaghat-Karbi Anglong border, were admitted to Golaghat Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital after falling seriously ill due to suspected food poisoning on Sunday night.

The incident occurred at the school hostel after the students consumed moong dal, cauliflower, and eggs for lunch, and later experienced fever and vomiting. The school administration admitted the students to the hospital on Sunday night immediately.

The affected students are from classes 7 to 10 and are boarders at the school hostel. The cause of the food poisoning is yet to be determined. The school’s teachers provided initial treatment, but the students’ condition worsened, prompting hospitalization. The students are currently undergoing treatment and showing signs of improvement.
