Tezpur: The Office of the Deputy Controller of Civil Defence, Sonitpur, has announced the recruitment of 1,000 Civil Defence volunteers under the jurisdiction of the Sonitpur district administration.
This initiative follows the directive issued by the Director General of Civil Defence and Commandant General of Home Guards, Assam, as per letter No. CD151/2021-22/175 dated 09/05/2025.
The selected volunteers will undergo a seven-day special basic training programme, which will be conducted by the Civil Defence authority in Tezpur. The training aims to equip participants with essential skills and preparedness for emergency response and disaster management.
The office of the Deputy Controller of Civil Defence, Sonitpur, has invited applications from eligible and willing residents of the district to enroll as Civil Defence Volunteers and contribute to national service.
To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a permanent resident (domicile) of Sonitpur district, have passed Class 10, and medically fit and mentally sound.
