Assam: 10,000 To Record Bihu On 14th April For The Jump In Guinness World Records

GUWAHATI: Amongst the various important decisions undertaken by the Assam Cabinet, the panel agreed on allowing 10,000 Bihu Dancers to perform in the approaching Bohag Bihu, on 14th of April. 

The prime motive behind this step is to promote Assam's culture and tradition, 'Bihu' in the international stature. The state government has decided to embark Bihu in the Guinness Book of World Records. As per sources, PM Narendra Modi will grace the event in Guwahati on the mentioned date. 

Bimal Bora, the Assam minister stated that, there are very fews days left for the grand entry of Bihu in the global stage and Guinness Books of Records. A number of 3000 Dhuliyas, pepua and taliyas from across the state along with 7000 bihu nasoni's will perform together at Sarusajai stadium on 14th of April, 2023, the minister added. 

Bora further informed that, PM Narendra Modi will visit the state and attend the function to support Assam's rich culture and heritage. He has put all the efforts needed to promote the state's richness in the global field. The event will take place under the supervision of CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, who has committed to demonstrate the diverse culture of Assam to the entire world, he added. 

The first announcement of this development was announced by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing the 74th Republic Day Celebrations in Guwahati. The state administration is rapidly trying to promote traditions and cultural values of Assam in a broader platform. A series of development has taken place as a result of this process. It is worth mentioning here that, the parade which took place in New Delhi, showcased Ahom Kingdom's pride, Rang Ghar and Shiva Dol on Republic Day celebrations. 

Along with that, Assam Tableau has also showcased Vir Lachit Borphukan on the boat and Maa Kamakhya temple. The 400th birth anniversary of Bir Lachit Barphukan took place in Delhi from 23rd November to 25th November 2022. Prime minister Narendra Modi was also present in the celebration of the 400th birth anniversary of Assam's legendary hero Lachit Borphukan.
