Assam: 10,010 people in 9 Dhemaji villages still affected by floods

Guwahati: Although the floodwaters are starting to recede across Assam, 10,010 people dwelling in 9 villages of Upper Assam's Dhemaji district are still affected due to floods.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority's (ADSMA) daily bulletin, 678 hectares of crop area is still submerged under floodwaters.

No human lives have been lost in the past 24 hours, and the death toll in this spate of floods stands fixed at 10.

Meanwhile, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has reported that a single road in Barak Valley's Karimganj district has suffered damages.

Erosion has been reported in both Biswanath and Baksa districts. In Biswanath, erosion has been observed at Singimari by the river Brahmaputra, and at Buroighat, Karibeel Bangali gaon by the river Buroi on the left bank, under the Biswanath Revenue Circle.

In Baksa, erosion has been reported from Betagaon under the Goeswar Revenue Circle.
