GUWAHATI: In a horrifying occurrence, a young child was brutally murdered on Wednesday in the Cachar district of Assam for using a phone to play games.

The incident, according to sources, occurred in the Jarailtola neighborhood of Borkhola. Panna Nath, a 13-year-old minor, was playing video games on a phone that belonged to the accused, Deepak Nath. When the accused spotted Panna with his phone, he asked him to stop and started beating him mercilessly.

The two began to argue, which caused the situation to worsen. The family of the deceased claimed that Deepak chased Panna and brutally assaulted him.

After the event, Panna's mother arrived on the scene and took him in a severe condition to Borkhola Hospital for treatment. After assessing his health, hospital staff recommended that he should be shifted for advanced care at Silchal Medical College and Hospital (SMCH).

Regrettably, as they arrived at SMCH, the medical staff pronounced him dead. In the meantime, the father of the deceased filed a police report at the Borkhala Police Station accusing Deepak Nath of killing his child. The police have opened an investigation into the situation based on the complaint that was made.
