HOJAI: A workshop on the new criminal laws was organized today, on February 10, 2025, by the 18th AP Battalion in Lumding, Hojai, Assam. The workshop focused on three important legal frameworks: the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023.

The event aimed to educate police personnel about the provisions of these new laws and their implications for the criminal justice system in India.

Earlier, Lakhimpur Police organized a training session on the "New Criminal Laws" for UB/AB Constables at the NL College Auditorium. This session focused on educating officers about the latest updates in criminal law.

Similarly, a training program was held for UB/AB personnel from Darrang DEF, Kamrup DEF, and Nalbari DEF at the Police Reserve in Darrang, Mangaldai, to inform them about recent changes in the law earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Sribhumi Police conducted a workshop for officers and personnel at various ranks on the new criminal laws, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023. This workshop continued the next day, with a written test to assess participants' understanding.

These initiatives aim to improve the knowledge and efficiency of law enforcement officers, enhancing the implementation of the new criminal laws across Assam.
