Assam: 3 Killed as Speeding Car Hits Bikes, 5 Injured

Guwahati: In a deplorable incident, three persons were killed and five others were injured in a road accident that occurred in Barpeta district in Assam on the night of May 16.

As per reports, the tragic accident unravelled when a speeding car crashed into four bikes in the Sarthabari area. This collision led to three people dying on the spot and six others are currently in critical condition.

The deceased have been identified as Pranav Bhuyan, Chitta Bhuyan and Hargovind Deka, while the injured persons were identified as Harbalabh Bhuyan, Hare Krishna Bhuyan, Surojit Deka, Manjit Bhuyan and Gitumoni Bhuyan. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle along with the occupant reportedly vanished from the scene after the accident took place.

According to reports, the four-wheeler was reportedly heading towards Nalbari.

Earlier, A man was run over by a train on May 11 at Jamugurihat in the Sonitpur district of Assam and it led to his death.

The unfortunate incident occurred at around 11 am at the rail tracks near Towbhanga in Jamugurihat.

However, the identity of the deceased was yet to be ascertained.

Jamuguri police had rushed to the spot and had initiated a probe into the incident. The body had been taken into custody and the police were trying to find out the identity of the deceased.
