GUWAHATI : Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma made a revelation about 966 decisions that were taken in 72 cabinet meetings in the year 2022. He stated this while talking with the media on the very first day of New Year, 2023.

Out of all the discussions and decisions made in the cabinet, 86.06 percent has been already implemented, added the CM. Furthermore, he informed that last year zero cases has been registered against rhino poaching.

It is worth mentioning that, in the past 25 years, the state has not witnessed a single case of rhino poaching. 2022 was indeed a landmark year. The CM further emphasised on the fact that, there might have been one or two remote cases, but evidently there has been a decline in rhino poaching.

He continues by saying that, the government is now going to operate digitally. All the employment exchange departments has been closed, and people can apply digitally now.

Government should be available 24/7, people can now apply for trade license, driving license and other such documents through online application at any hour of the day. The CM stated that, he was present in 35 districts in the year 2022 for 230 times.

On 1st of January 2023, the CM also launched 100 CNG buses in the city. He stated on the inauguration programme that this is for the first time, the state has witnessed such an initiative. The public transport system will be tranformed in the coming days.

Himanta Biswa Sarma spoke on various matters while attending the New Year's program. He mentioned that as a CM he can never compromise on the sovereignty issue. He also discussed about the Jihadi activities that has been carried on within the state.

The Assam police is rigorously carrying out its operations against such activities. The CM stated that, the state administration has received ample amount of support from the Muslim communities in the fight against Jihadi activities in Assam. Several modules of Jihadi arrests has been made in 2022 from different regions of Assam.
