Assam: AAU contributes to CM's Relief Fund

Jorhat: Assam Agricultural University (AAU) Vice-Chancellor Dr Bidyut Chandan Deka handed over a cheque of Rs 44,89,794 to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma towards the Chief Minister's Relief Fund in aid of the flood-hit people, at the Janata Bhavan, Dispur, on Friday.

An AAU press release stated here that the amount was one day's salary of faculty members and other employees of the university. Joint Registrar of the university based at Khanapara, Dr Birendra Kumar Sarmah and Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Dr Bibekananda Saikia were present on the occasion.
