KOKRAJHAR: The Boro Bima Gouthum (BBG), Bodo Mother’s Association, and the Kokrajhar district committee, ABSU today took out a rally against the anti-social activities in Kokrajhar. The rally, which was flagged off by Vice-President of ABSU Kwrwmdao Wary, started from Bodofa Children Park, moved via Jwhwlao Dwimalu Road in Kokrajhar town to Government HS & MP School Field.
In her brief address, the Deputy Chief Convenor of the newly-floated Boro Bima Gouthum Bibari Boro said that the anti-social activities like child marriage, excessive use of drug substances, human trafficking, extra-marital relations, and obscenity and uncivilized contents in social media were on the rise in the society. She said that the time had come to deal with these anti-social activities and bring awareness among the masses.
The Bodo women are very concerned about the rise of such anti-social activities for the greater interest of a civilized and decent society, she said, adding that every conscious citizen, guardian, and the youth should come forward to raise a collective voice and to deal with these anti-social activities.
The women in the rally shouted slogans urging the people to stop child marriages, illegal live-ins, extra-marital affairs, trafficking, use of drugs and alcohol, and misuse of social media.
The rally was also joined by President of Kokrajhar district committee, ABSU Kripesh Daimary, Secretary Khampa Basumatary, and others.
