The victim is identified as Manik Debnath, who hails from Bokulguri in Goreswar in the Baksa district of Assam.

The victim's wife is suspecting some kind of personal enmity between the victim and the miscreants and has asked the police to investigate deeper into the case to find out the actual reason behind this incident.

The police officials though have suspected a family feud between the victim's family and the miscreants' families and the wife of the victim may know about it but is not revealing anything as of now.
