DIBRUGARH: Advocate Gaurav Raj Dutta, Managing Partner of BAROOAH & DUTTA law firm, Guwahati, and Advocate Pooja Dutta, Managing Partner of ASTUTE LAW, were invited to the 12th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (COP UNTOC) at the UN sub-headquarters at Vienna, Austria.
192 countries are signatories to the convention, and India too has ratified and is a signatory to the UNTOC.
During the conference, it was resolved to improve the capacity of State Parties to combat transnational organized crime and to promote and review the implementation of this convention. India reaffirmed its commitment to combat transnational organized crime through a multi-pronged approach and strong international cooperation.
Both Advocate Gaurav Raj Dutta and Advocate Pooja Dutta stated that the deliberations at this conference will further strengthen our collective resolve to fight these global threats.
