Guwahati: National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAEAB) has accredited Assam Agricultural University (AAU) with an A grade for the next five years.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Assam Education Minister shared the information and congratulated the VC and all those associated with the institution.

''I am happy to know that the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board has accredited #AssamAgriculturalUniversity with an A grade for the next five years.

My congratulations to the hon'ble VC and all those associated with the institution. @himantabiswa @CMOfficeAssam,'' he tweeted.

Notably, the AAU has emerged as the first institution of its kind in the whole North-Eastern Region of India whose main goal is to produce globally competitive human resources in the farm sector and to carry out research in both conventional and frontier areas.

The university is on a mission to bridge the gap in agriculture and allied sectored to prepare the state to combat the upcoming challenges in agriculture and ensure productivity increase in Agri-Horti-animal fish crops.
