Assam: Agriculture Director holds review meeting amid second flood wave

Tezpur: Agriculture Director Anant Lal Gyani held a review meeting for relief and rehabilitation work in the wake of the second wave of floods which affected the district, with officials of the Sonitpur district administration at a meeting held at the conference hall of the DC's office.

Deputy Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra, CEO, Zila Parishad, Karabi Saikia Karan, ADC, Romy Baruah, all Circle Officers, Block Development Officers and heads of various concerned line departments were present in the meeting.

The Director asked the officials present to carry out all pending works as per the timeline already fixed, as directed by the Chief Minister earlier through a video conference with DCs of severely-affected districts. He also directed the Circle Officers to prepare a proper list of flood victims taking shelter in all relief camps and camp-like centres, and submit the same before July 5 as they will be getting a one-time assistance of Rs 3,800. Also, the Inspector of Schools was directed to prepare a list of all school children taking shelter in relief camps as they will be getting Rs 1,000 as assistance.
