Assam Agriculture University celebrates 100 years of Assam Rice Research Institute

JORHAT: Assam Agriculture University (AAU) organized a three-day international conference on next generation preparedness for food security and environmental sustainability on the occasion of the 100 glorious years of AAU’s Assam Rice Research Institute, Titabar. Dr. Bidyut Chandan Deka, Vice Chancellor of AAU delivered the welcome address in the inaugural function.

Dr. Rabe Yahaya, International Research scientist, Mechanization and Post-Harvest, IRRI addressed in the inaugural function. Dr Uday Sekhar Nagothu Director, Center for International Development, NIBIO, Norway addressed as a guest of honour. Beste Langset , Counsellor - climate and Environment, Norwegian Embassy, New Delhi addressed in the function. Dr. Trilochan Mahapatra chairman , PPV -FRA , MOA and FW ,Gol addressed as a chief guest, Dr. Mahapatra said, “Assam Rice Research Institute is under AAU. Rice Research Institute contributes a large variety of rice in India.” Dr. Mahapatra congratulated AAU for doing various developmental works.
