JAMUGURIHAT: Ali-Aye-Liganag, an agri-based festival of the Mising community of the state, has been observed in various parts of the greater Naduar area today on the first Wednesday of the month of Phagun along with other parts of the state.

Generally, the Spring festival is observed on the first Wednesday of the month of Phagun every year. It is a festival of the sowing of roots and fruits. The agri-based festival was observed in the Bamunipam, Bordekorai area. The programme was organized by Season Ajo Yubak Sangha in association with the Village Development Committee and in collaboration with various Mising organizations. After observance of traditional rituals, cultural programmes were exhibited by various troupes. The day-long programme began with the hoisting of the flag. The special day was observed at Khanamuk also amid age-old convention and Mising tradition.
