JAMUGURIHAT: A delegate of Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha (ANSS) headed by its President Dr Chinta Mani Sharma along with representatives from seven districts of Assam and the women wing visited Padma Shri Lil Bahadur Chhetri’s residence today and paid homage, informed a press release issued by Tilak Sarma, Chief Secretary of ANSS. Durga Khatiowa, Chief Advisor of ANSS, lit an earthen lamp in front of the portrait of Late Chhetri and Dr Chinta Mani Sharma offered a garland on the portrait. Chief Secretary Tilak Sarma read out the condolence proposal in the presence of Working President Dr Indu Prabha Devi, Badri Guragain, Jagannath Sarma, along with other dignitaries. The President of the literary body briefly presented a pen picture of the literary contributions of Padma Shri Lil Bahadur Chhetri. Along with this, Baksa District ANSS presented a condolence note. After this, a one-minute silence was observed. The event was attended by Churamani Newpane, Keshab Upreti, Janakraj Upadhyaya, among others. It is pertinent to mention here that Padma Shri Lil Bahadur Chhetri breathed his last on March 13 due to old-age-related ailments at the age of 93.
