Assam: Anti-drug awareness programme held in Diphu

DIPHU: The Klirdap Welfare Society (KWS), NGO in collaboration with State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council, Assam organised an Anti-drug awareness programme for school children of Binapani High School and Chandra Sing Teron High School here on Friday. The programme was held at Chandrasing Teron High School, Dharamnala here, where more than 100 students of both the schools participated.

In the awareness programme the invited speaker, Vice Chairman of State Anti-Drug and Prohibition Council, Assam, Jitu Borgohain explained to the students about the various forms of drugs and the adverse effect by its consumption. He advised students not to fall prey to drugs as it will ruin mentally and physically. By taking intoxicating substances will affect the concentration in studies. It will ultimately lead to destruction of one’s life, Borgohain said.
