GUWAHATI: The Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) announced that sufficient power is available and the said company is committed to providing an uninterrupted supply of power to its consumers.

In an APDCL tweet, it wrote, "Sufficient power is available. APDCL is committed to provide uninterrupted supply of power to our esteemed consumers. Consumers need not to panic."

This comes after a public notice from the APDCL in national daily went viral and it reads, "Due to limited coal availability, the generation of power from Thermal Generating Stations has decreased considerably, The power position is clearly 'At critical level and power outages/load shedding may be inevitable. Kindly 7. bear with us and use electricity judiciously. Energy saved is energy generated. Inconvenience caused is highly regretted. Please pay your energy bill on time and help us to serve you better !"

 It is to be mentioned here that state-run Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) on Monday announced that a number of areas in Bengaluru will face power outages on Tuesday (October 12). Earlier today, CM Basavaraj Bommai had said that the Karnataka government had requested the Centre to increase the supply of coal to the state by four racks.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah, on the other hand, met Union Power Minister RK Singh, Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi along with officials of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) office and held a high-level meeting to discuss the possible power crisis in the country due to reported coal shortage.
