Assam: ASCPCR organizes media workshop to create awareness about child rights

Jagiroad: The Assam State Commission for Protection of Children Rights (ASCPCR) organized a media workshop on Friday here. Addressing the session, media resource person of ASCPCR, Mrinal Talukdar explained in detail about the violation of child rights in India and stressed the need to create awareness to curb such inhuman activities. He said that in India, five children were sexually harassed in an hour. He also elaborated on the media exposure of the victims of such harassment causing more social harm to the victim. He also explained about the ignorance of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and Juvenile Justice Act among the people and stressed the need to create awareness. The session was also addressed by ASCPCR member Ajay Dutta, technical consultant Maharshi Goswami and Mridusmita Dutta. Altogether 25 journalists of Jagiroad Press Club attended the workshop.
