SIVASAGAR: With an aim to strengthen rural livelihoods, empower women entrepreneurs, and enhance financial inclusion in Sivasagar district, Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM), in collaboration with ‘Sa-Dhan,’ organized a Loan Mela and NPA Recovery Mela in Sivasagar today. The event, held at the ASRLM office, witnessed the participation of numerous Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and key stakeholders.
The programme was graced by the presence of Sulabha Dev, Lead Bank Officer of Sivasagar District, Jayanta Kumar Phukan, Director of RESETI, Kundan Kumar, Manager of PNB Sivasagar Branch, Nirupam Dutta, Manager of Apex Bank Sivasagar Branch, Kaushik Das, Manager of UCO Bank Sivasagar Branch, Anirban Dutta, State Head of Sa-Dhan, and Dr Suraj Jyoti Gogoi, District Project Manager of ASRLM Sivasagar District.
Anchored by District Functional Expert Sushmita Kalindi, the event was also attended by Lopa Mudra Gogoi, District Head of Sa-Dhan, Block Project Managers, and Block Coordinators from five development blocks, SHG members, and other key stakeholders. During the programme, loan sanction letters amounting to Rs 22,20,40,000 were distributed to 546 SHGs. Additionally, 132 women entrepreneurs received individual loan approvals totalling Rs 2,03,78,000. The NPA Recovery Mela also facilitated the clearance of overdue loans from six SHGs, enabling them to regain their financial stability by clearing their Non-Performing Assets (NPA) status.
