Assam Assembly Polls 2021: BJP wins Sarupathar Constituency

SARUPATHAR: The Assam Assembly polls result in 94-Sarupathar LAC have come as a shocker for the Congress. A neck-to-neck battle and a tough fight to the rival candidates ended here on Sunday. In Sarupathar, there were a total of 2,53,725 voters and 77.76 per cent of votes were recorded on March 27.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate Biswajit Phukan shone in the Sarupathar Assembly battle 2021, by leading in 39,065 votes. He secured a total of 1,07,367 votes and enjoyed good support from the grassroots level and tea garden workers.

However, according to the sources, for the Saffron party, this election was very different from the other States as Assam was the only place where it was fighting to retain power.
