BONGAIGAON: "The Kalita Janagosthi Students Union (KJSU) has decided to give candidates in 35 constituencies in the upcoming legislative elections. List of the constituency wise candidate will be published later," said Dipjyoti Kalita, president of Bongaigaon district Kalita Students Union on Sunday. He said this after a discussion was held in Bongaigaon where Central President of the union Anupal Dutta Pathak, Bongaigaon district secretary Bijit Kakoty etc were present. He also mentioned that they will compete in two or one constituency of Bongaigaon district. Addressing the meeting, Anupal Dutta Pathak said that the most unsuccessful Minister in present cabinet are the three Ministers from AGP (Asom Gana Parishad). "Government has failed to control flood situation and for which a major portion of agricultural land have been affected. We demand that the government should announce a package of Rs 200 crore for the farmers whose crops have been damaged in the floods," he said.
