MARGHERITA: The Margherita FRU Civil Hospital in the Tinsukia district of Assam has become a ray of hope for people in need of conventional and holistic medical care. Panchakarma therapy, a fundamental component of Ayurvedic medicine, is being offered by the hospital since March 8, 2019, under the committed direction of Dr. Sashindra Barman, Margherita's co-district medical officer and a passionate advocate of Ayurveda.

Over 700 individuals with a variety of conditions, such as paralysis, neurological diseases, skin issues, arthritis, and even poisoning, have been effectively treated with panchakarma, a detoxification and rejuvenation therapy.

This age-old method of healing, which comes from a 5,000-year-old tradition that was once in danger of going extinct, combines herbal treatments and natural therapies to improve health and restore balance.

Margherita Civil Hospital has become a hub for traditional medicine, focusing on a balanced lifestyle and natural healing methods. This approach has gained renewed significance, helping over 700 critically ill patients from Assam and neighboring states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Meghalaya, recover successfully under its care. Dr. Sashindra Barman highlighted the transformative impact of these practices, which have brought hope and healing to patients across the region.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Sashindra Barman's research emphasises how crucial it is to preserve and incorporate traditional knowledge into contemporary medical treatment.

Patients receiving Panchakarma therapy at the hospital have experienced notable health improvements. This holistic treatment approach targets physical conditions while also enhancing mental well-being, making it an increasingly popular option for those exploring alternative healthcare solutions. Dr. Sashindra Barman emphasized the growing preference for this integrative therapy among patients.
